“The blu painted in blu”

Le parole del testo di “Nel blu dipinto di blu”, di Franco Migliacci e Domenico Modugno, sono esse stesse musica e nel 1958 hanno innovato il modo di scrivere le canzoni, accompagnando un salto culturale e di costume del nostro paese.

Qui ho voluto giocare con il testo, scrivendolo in inglese e introducendo una citazione da “Una canzone per te” di Vasco Rossi, che vi lascerò il gusto di scoprire.

“I believe that a dream like this never come back.

I was painting the hands and the face in blue. Then, suddenly, the wind brought me away and I started to fly in the deep blue painted in blue of the never ending sky: being happy to fly up there.

I was flying and flying, higher than the sun – more and more – while the world slowly was disappearing over there and one sweet music was playing for me.

But all the dreams vanish because when the moon set, “she” brings them with “her”. You know, dreams are like flowers, or like songs: they born spontaneously and you must catch them right away, to fix them in words, otherwise they run away forever…

This is the reason why, I can now continue the dream in your wonderful eyes, which are blue like a light spotted sky: happy to stay down here in this life.

So, I fly again – higher and higher than the sun – and the world disappears all around, because I loose in your deep blue eyes every day and I enjoy your voice, that play for me, like a sweet music.”
